ERIN 1, 2 and 3 Available to Download

In the page “About Me,” I mentioned that the Erin scarf/cowl would be available as a free download from Ravelry “soon.” It’s here! You also can see my other patterns in my Ravelry shop. Please stop by and take a look. My patterns are still quite few in number, but as I have more time to write things up, I’ll try to get them posted.

Meanwhile, things are quiet here on the lake and it’s pretty chilly outside. The good news is that the tulips are now up along with the daffodils, so at least there is color in the yard. We’ve seen the birds stuffing grass and twigs into the bird houses next to our office window, so I’m expecting lots of morning noise soon.

Beginning of a swatch in TERN from Quince & Company in the colorway Tyrian. A lovely, light-weight fingering yarn in wool and silk. Just right for spring.

On deck for the weekend is more swatching. I have some lovely Quince & Co. yarn (Tern) for a t-shirt top (see above), and I’m still swatching flowers for my Katerina Segerbrand-inspired sweater. I’ve added poppies and dandelions to the list of possibilities — charting the dandelions was a real challenge! I’m also looking at overall lace patterns for a fall sweater…something lightweight with elbow or 3/4 sleeves that just adds a little bit when its cool, but not quite cold enough for a whole sweater. If this sounds a little scattered, it’s because I get this way when I haven’t settled down to knitting something specific. I’m often in danger of becoming someone who ONLY swatches, but doesn’t knit anything useful. Well, that’s perhaps overstating it, but I do enjoy winding up some new yarn and giving it a spin on the needles just to see how it does.
